Thursday, September 17th I arrived at the Union Station in Kansas City for Techweek to network and speak on the “Wearables and Beyond” panel. When thinking of a city with a growing tech scene Kansas City was the last place I thought of visiting. I was pleasantly surprised the many amazing companies in the city and had the opportunity to meet with most of them. Through initiatives like LaunchKC downtown Kansas City is transforming into a creative and emerging entrepreneurial community.
LaunchKC launched a National competition earlier in the year to attract tech entrepreneurs to Kansas City. During Techweek, attendees had the opportunity to view the 20 finalists pitch and watch the 10 awardees win $100,000 towards their growing companies.
